100 years of institutional recognition of Islam in Croatia

2016 marks the significant year for the Islamic Community in Croatia. It is the year when Republic of Croatia celebrates the centenary of the issue of the Law of institutional recognition of Islam, by the Croatian Parliament.

As part of the celebrations, Croatia will host the World Halal Day Croatia 2016 (WHD), the first international halal event in Croatia dedicated to the Halal market, Halal tourism, Halal food and nutrition as well as Islamic banking and finance for the first time in Croatia. The growth of Islamic finance industry, locally and globally, is expected to continue for years to come. The need for developing highly skilled talent to support the sustainable growth of the industry has critically triggered.

Considering that great potential of Islamic Banking & Finance Industry which has become a significant contributor to all facets of economic growth the focal point of World Halal Day would discuss the potentials and challanges of developing  Islamic Banking and Finance in Croatia and the region.

Three-day congress would take place from 2nd- 4th November 2016 in City of Opatija and presents a great platform to gather all industry leaders, non-profit organizations, representatives of government authorities, business and hotel management executives, travel agencies, local government units, university lecturers, scientific researches, financial institutions, buyers and trade visitors to present themselves and exchange valuable business experiences.
